Sims Levittown

An authentic trip through the fabulous 1950's using the popular PC game THE SIMS 1

Welcome to Sims Levittown!

"The most perfectly planned community in America"

All five of the house packages require that you first install all of the house packages that precede it in the series. This serves to pre-equip your game with the necessary gables, objects, and global files.

The progressive nature of the house downloads on SIMS LEVITTOWN enable each new house to have fresh and interesting objects, while keeping the file sizes manageable. All of the new houses available at Sims Levittown will always require that you first install all of the houses that precede it.
So REMEMBER, you must start at the beginning, installing the Sims Levittown house packages IN THIS ORDER:
  1. The 1952 Levittowner
  2. The Levittowner -styles 1 & 4
  3. Levittown in 1957
  4. The Springfields
  5. A Jaunt to Levittown, Long Island

Package 1 - house, objects, walls, floors, and a custom global

The 1952 Levittowner Style #2

Mass Appeal

The sleek, low lines of The Levittowner caught the eye of the hip young crowd and family folks alike; it was the most popular house during Levittown's first few years.

This zip file includes everything you need to move into your very own 1952 Levittowner (style #2).

This includes a global file (LightSoundGlobals.iff) that MUST be installed into

The Sims\GameData\globals
Failure to install this file properly will result in your game crashing.

Included in every Sims Levitt Home...

This first installment introduces the foundation set of the project. Some examples include The Levitt SMART Bathroom, Social objects such as the sit-n-chat chair and the indoor-enabled 3 way fireplace, The 50's mom calibration system found in every Levittown home.
    The Levitt SMART Bathroom
  • Smart Toilet: eliminates 98% of "bladder failure" episodes. Also prevents sims from spending 25% of their day sitting on the toilet (whew).
  • A no-dishwashing sink to match
  • A tub with a realistic difference: Do you take a relaxing late-night bath, only to change back into your street clothes? No way; it's 'jammie time. (pj's at night only. Normal clothes during the day.)
(Mike later provided a simogical locking door for the bathroom and recommends you replace the existing bathroom door with that first thing)

Package 2 - Two houses, more objects, walls, floors and a 2nd global

Levittowner Style #1 and Style #4

Two more 1952 Levittowners, to keep your Levittowner (style #2) company. These houses will fill lot #65 and lot #66 of your Sims Levittown.

These zip file includes the additional items you need to move into your very own 1952 Levittowner (style #2).

This includes a global file (NoWakePhoneGlobals) that MUST be installed into

The Sims\GameData\globals
Failure to install this file properly will result in your game crashing.

Package 3 - Houses, family, skins, more objects, walls, floors, & a 3rd global

Levittown in 1957

This Pennsylvanian will fit on lot #2 of your Sims Levittown. If you downloaded the Levittown street name file (available below) the address of this house will be 2 Deep Dale East.

This Jubilee sits on lot #69 of your Sims Levittown. If you downloaded the Levittown street name file (available below) the address of this house will be 69 Dogwood Hollow.

The Jubilee is bundled within the Dalewoods' FAM file and will be installed to lot 69 automatically (overwriting the existing house) when you install the family. Instructions for installing FAM files are included in the zip.

This zip also includes a 3rd custom global file ( ArtCutawayGlobals.iff) that MUST be installed into

The Sims\GameData\globals
Failure to install this file properly will result in your game crashing.

Package 4 - House, a family, skins, more objects, walls, and floors

The Springfields

"The Country Clubber came in four versions, all with the same floorplan. It was the largest house Levitt built, almost twice as large (and twice as expensive) as The Levittowner. It featured 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main floor plus an expansion attic. In addition to the features shared by all Levitt homes, this house featured complete air conditioning by CARRIER."

This installment includes a family of 8 and is so large it needs to be broken down into 4 zips!

Springfield 1. zip includes Walls ad Floors

Springfield 2. zip includes many objects

Springfield 2B. zip includes even more objects!

Springfield 3. zip includes the Family, House (bundled together as a FAM file) and all of the skins needed for them.

As with each installment the previous installments are required.

Also recommended (but not included) is NPC Grand, an all purpose NPC found in the People Page zip. The Springfields do start out with the maid service already active, but he is much more helpful, efficient and theme-appropriate.

Meet the Springfields

Dexter Springfield is a salesman for Pennsylvania Chemical. Nothing makes Dexter happier than having lots of people around, so every autumn he invites his mother and father from upstate New York to come and stay through the entire winter holiday season.

Warm and friendly, Kitty Springfield welcomes her in-laws with open arms and a cozy guestroom. While her mother-in-law presents a rather stern exterior, Kitty senses that the ice has melted considerably since their first meeting almost a decade ago.

Mrs. Springfield (sr.) is a veritable wellspring of unsolicited advice on running what she calls "a thoroughly neat and proper household". Nobody knows better than she what makes her "little Dexter" happy! Lately Mrs. Springfield has been nursing a suspicion that Cornelia Goth is sweet on her husband.

Mr. Springfield (sr.) is getting a little forgetful in his old age; the other day he showed up for breakfast wearing his underwear on the outside of his pants, much to the delight of the children. Affectionately known as "Ol' Pa", he loves to tell jokes whether or not they include a punchline.

Package 5 - Houses, more objects, walls, and floors

A jaunt to Levittown, Long Island

Lots 74, 75, 77, and 80 contain the original 1950 Levitt Ranch. These homes cost approximately 15,000 simoleans apiece, making them perfect little starter homes for your sims. Each house is fully equipped with plumbing fixtures, kitchen appliances, fireplace unit with pivoting bookcase, and an ADMIRAL built-in 12 inch television!

Lot 75 - Roof on Lot 75 - Roof off

Lot 73 contains 3 original Levitt Cape Cods. True to form, they are set with their backyards facing a common "village green", just one of the carefully planned touches thought up by Alfred Levitt. Lot 73 might be interesting to play with Simolgical's apartment token system.

Green Cap Cod on Lot 73
Lot 72 - Roof on Lot 72 - Roof off

Lots 71 and 72 contain "The Rancher" model from Levittown, Pennsylvania. Costing approximately 13,000 simoleans, they are a good budget starter home, with room for growing families. #71 is unfinished inside.

Lot 73 - Roof on Lot 73 - Roof off

Bonus Houses!!

2 Old Houses, made available by Genie

New House files for Lot 01 (Country Clubber) and Lot 68 (Jubilee) from when I first started testing this theme for Mike.

NOTE: The wall files located in "Build Page" zip will need to be installed before installing these houses...especially for Lot01. Four of these walls are not included elsewhere. One wall (1a siding fini green) is also required for the 1957 Pennsylvanian and is the one the game chooses when installing the house when this wall is in the game.

Install these two houses after all other walls, floors, objects, and globals have been installed.

This zip also includes a zip of very old files, no longer part of Mike's downloads--all required for the two bonus house files I've included. I have cloned these to give them a Magic Cookie since Mike created these before he had one. They include paintings, a new counter, plants, a bed, another window set etc.....
